The 9th Rotary Squadron, nicknamed GHOST RIDERS, is a squadron of KA-50 Sharks under the Rotary Platoon, part of the DCS NA 33rd TFW Battalion. The Ghost Riders are sniper strike units, using their range and skills to fly in cover.
The Black Shark is the McClaren F1 of helicopters – single seat, built for speed, dedicated attack helicopter role, with fancy computerized flight assistance and autopilots.
We train specialized missions every week to prepare for mandatories – ranging from border patrol, escort, CAS, anti-helicopter operations, night time special ops, joint exercises with Hells Archers, and more! We provide heavy Combat Air Support (CAS) to the mission, as well as specialized tasks such as: JTAC for A-10C, SEAD, Anti-Ship warfare, Utility Specialist, and more!
The leadership of Ghost Riders are very knowledgeable in the airframe and will teach you everything you need to know about the Black Sharks ins and outs.
The Ghost Riders holds training every Thursday @ 1900 CST, and suit up for a 1900 CST dust off into a full blown joint operation on Sundays beginning @ 1845 CST.
