Hawgs are a designated striker squadron utilizing the A-10C Warthog, AV-8B Harrier and later, as soon as its full A/G capabilities are available, the F/A-18C Hornet.
The Hawgs are active since early 2018 and where formed by TigerPaw and since then grew constantly.
Well aware of the fact that no one can master all of three aircraft, most members usually learn their A/G skills in the A-10C and then move on to either the AV-8B or the F/A-18C, since the A-10C has the steepest learning curve of those aircraft (for the time being). But that doesn’t mean that new members are restricted to the A-10C from the beginning if they are experienced in either of those three airframes and if they want to focus on a aircraft in particular.
We aim to utilize all means of cooperation between these three types of aircraft that are available now in DCS, or in the future updates (for example: having an A-10C as FAC coordinating strikes conducted by our AV-8B’s and/or F/A-18’s).
The future milestone of the Hawgs will be the full A/G (and A/A) utilization of the F/A-18C in coordination with the other two airframes.
Mandatory events are conducted weekly on sundays at 18:45 Zulu time.
Trainings are conducted weekly on thursdays at 20:00 Zulu time, members are also seen on blue flag servers regularly.
