Welcome to the most versatile squadron!
The TAW Rotor Squadron, nicknamed: VORTEX VIKINGS.
It all began with two guys starting on the mighty MI-8. Koksy and Tigerke flew several missions until Tigerke left due to personal reasons. Koksy became platoon leader after he proved himself to be a trustful asset in the EU Division capable of leading the rotary into battle. Luckily Koksy could convince Tigerke to rejoin and so the force became stronger in the rotary force!
Their knowledge and experience is passed on every member since then resulting in a good and efficient team capable to execute every task.
Kerunix, Mago, IanMacleod, Nemoke, Gusto, Bizzute, BigBatman (our first NA Division member) joined our ranks and each one has proven his capabilities in combat!
The origin of the Vortex Vikings has to be found in the old, raw but trustfully forces in the ancient age (Norwegian Vikings) and so is our squadron to be one of the most challenging units due to the versatility compared to fixed wing squadrons!
Another big difference is our lack in airspeed but we compensate that in our efficiency and team play! We have proved to be vital in supporting the fixed wing squadrons such as SAM supply in order to protect the airspace against enemy threats, attacking crucial targets on strategic locations, troop intrusions and so on! Joining Vortex Vikings is a demanding commitment resulting in becoming a full member with the best capabilities in rotary!
The VORTEX VIKINGS have their weekly training @ 2030 CE(S)T Wednesday evening.
