Operation Thunder Run
Mission by: Dperk – SteelTiger – Cola
Situation:
It is March 2003. Saddam has refused to surrender his forces so it time to put tank track to pavement and begin liberating. We have taken over an outlying airfield just inside the Iraq border to rearm and refuel will be stepping off shortly this morning down Highway 1 to take over Saddam Intl. Airport.
Saddam has had ample time to prepare local militia and, Republican Guard forces have dug and are waiting for us. There is nothing sneaky about this. We have to clean out enemy forces,
get to the airport and take it before nightfall, and maintain our supply line on Highway one.
Losing control of the highway will mean choking off our troops. We must maintain three checkpoints along the route. Checkpoints Moe, Larry, and Curly.
